Description:RMS Memphis is currently looking for an experienced Quality Engineer to join their team. This position is responsible for providing Quality Assurance support for the manufacture and assembly of high precision medical instruments to the medical industry. The Quality Engineer is responsible for the definition, implementation and improvement of quality-related practices and procedures. This position provides technical guidance and measurement methodologies in addition to assisting in problem solving.
Duties:1) Quality engineering support for manufacturing and project management. Develop inspection requirements; facilitate PFMEAs; resolve discrepant material issues and assist with the creation and implementation of control plans.
2) Support new production by applying quality planning requirements prior to production.
3) Act in conjunction with other team members to develop the manufacturing process(es) for new products.
4) Support new production during the first build of new products. This will require hands-on development of measurement techniques to ensure process and product quality.
5) Coordinate, facilitate, conduct and document problem-solving efforts related to product and process quality.
6) Analyze data and identify improvement opportunities. Data will be the results of statistics, sampling and process capability studies.
7) Act as the quality interface for a production team by assisting the production team in the resolution of customer issues.
8) Lead corrective action activities.
Qualifications:Education:
Bachelor of Science Degree

Knowledge and Skills:
Knowledge and application of product development processes and preventive quality engineering techniques (PFMEA, control plans, process mapping, DFM, DFA, SPC, gage R&R and GD&T).
1) Knowledge of ISO 13485, FDA Quality Systems Regulations (QSR) and validation principles.
2) Proven communication skills in a team-oriented organization.
3) 5-8 years engineering experience in a production support role, preferably in a machining environment.
4) Experience with SPC.
5) Experience with six sigma and lean manufacturing techniques.
