| Description: | rms is a state of the art facility with the latest technology in precision machines to produce components for the medical device and aerospace industries. The Manufacturing Engineer is primarily responsible for all coordination and management phases of a manufacturing project from beginning to end, insuring compliance to the customer, industry, and rms standards.

| Duties: | 1. Interpret customer prints and develop manufacturing processes for machining, surface treatments and assembly of medical components.
2. Assist with analyzing product failures to determine root cause and corrective action for product returns and complaints related to the manufacturing operations.
3. Develop manufacturing prints used for the machining and assembly of medical parts.
4. Supports the manufacturing departments in development of processes, tooling and fixturing used to produce rms products.
5. Work with Quality Engineering to develop capable and certified processes to support and maintain a continuous flow of quality products to our customer.
6. Supports and leads actions for implementing cost reduction projects and assures appropriate level of documentation detail including sound justifications for capital improvements.
7. Provides quotations for pricing of rms products using most economical manufacturing methods.
8. Interface with customers on design, manufacturing and quality issues.
9. Creates and maintains accurate information within all the manufacturing system relative to engineering responsibilities as required by rms.
10. Manages projects to develop new technologies and process.

| Qualifications: | Education:
1. Job requires a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering or technology.
2. Work experience as a manufacturing engineer in a machining environment is preferred but not required.
Knowledge and Skills:
1. Knowledge of ISO 9000, statistical process control, machining practices, properties of materials, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, production machinery and tooling, modern fabrication and assembly techniques, and machine shop practices is preferred.
2. An understanding of machining processes and operation of CNC equipment is desirable.
3. Experienced and knowledgeable with laser cutting and laser welding is preferred.
4. Must be able to identify root cause and develop appropriate corrective actions.
5. Experienced in lean manufacturing techniques is desirable.
6. Efficiently integrate existing methods with new innovations, and communicate effectively at all levels.
7. Solidworks or Pro-Engineering software experience is desirable.
